There is a natural synergy shared between the structure of Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs) / Tribal enterprises and online communities. Many of the new communities formed on the interwebs exist only because of the Internet. This is not the case with tribal enterprises; where tribal members have a strong group, despite geography or lack of communication.
So, tribal entities don’t necessarily need to create online “virtual communities”, but rather engage, enhance and extend existing community online. The Internet creates better communities, communication and relationships between tribal members.
Tribes need to engage their members online because this is where tribal members meet and discuss issues important to them.
Morgan Howard Productions consults and implements strategy for tribal entities to engage with their members, employees and customers through social media tools.
