Alaska Native Corporations (ANC) and Tribal business are unique in the corporate and business world. American for-profit corporations are created for the sole purpose of making money. ANCs have to balance for-profit ventures with the culture, tradition and values of the Native people they represent.

For many Southeast Alaska corporations this is a delicate balance that has to be achieved. The world of the Tlingit people centers around the concept of “balance”. Our people have always seeked and maintained balance in our social, spiritual and daily lives. It is this need for balance that makes it possible to operate businesses while simultaneously providing benefits to shareholders.

Today’s Native business leaders are guided by their ancestors values to provide benefit today; and for future generations. Successful Native corporations blend traditional Native values with business values for the betterment of everyone.
